Pain! ๐
I think I need to take more vitamins to help my nail beds in general... but here's what I experienced:
I usually don't get my nails done because I type a lot for work and school. So during Christmas time I felt like since I had a week or so off, I could be a little girly and I got GelX nails. Actually really enjoyed my first set, noticed the growth, and went back for a fill. When I went in for the fill, I chose a different color, and when she did my nails my beds felt like they were on fire so I naturally jolted my hand away several times. She did apologize, and I knew it came with the territory but I think she went a little too far into my nail bed. I was still happy with them but my nail beds felt like they were on fire for a few days to the point where it was tender to do normal daily things. After week I had another tech take them off since they were open earlier before I went to work. She was really gentle because I was still very tender, and she explained that my nail bed was dead. There was clear distinction between healthy nail and dead nail. I was confused, I don't think that's normal? Was it the gel or the tool?
Anyway, I've had my natural nails for a month and I can't use my nails for anything (changing batteries in a remote, moving wet laundry to dryer, I couldn't even open a locket necklace I got for Valentine's Day) because my actual nail is so weak that it just beds. I am so close to getting my whole nail back.
Am I wrong for thinking I will never ever get GelX again? I've had acrylic nails and never had this issue with my nail beds. But I am not a frequent goer.
