Is it okay to ask for extra pay instead of comp off for weekend work, in lala companies?

So, I’m a fresher working in a small startup (4 devs + 3 interns), around 8 months in this startup.

Today my manager asked me to work on weekends(for how long no idea). They’re offering comp off in return.

But honestly, comp off doesn’t feel useful to me because:

• I’m not from this city, so I don’t really have much to do on weekdays.
• I rarely take leaves anyway.
• Losing weekends feels worse than getting comp off.

At the same time, it’s a small team and they depend on me as well, so I don’t want to create any ego issue or look difficult.

Just confused what’s the right way here.

• Is it okay to ask for extra pay instead of comp off?
• If yes, what’s the usual standard for weekend pay in India?
• And how to say it without sounding rude or money-minded?

Would really appreciate some advice.
