Devs, please remove bots from QP

:Discussion:Discussion

It’s absolutely ridiculous this hasn’t been changed yet. There is absolutely no purpose for bots to be in this mode, full stop.

I really don’t see how this aspect prevents casual players from wanting to leave the game. Because the MMR is so wide, being put into a bot match just hands all the mechanical agency and experience to the best players, who then hold the bots at the door.

There are times I’m full inting the spawn door and get picks, and hardly die, because the bots just walk in and feed over and over again.

If you are not going to remove bots from QP AT LEAST LET ME LEAVE WITHOUT BEING PENALIZED FOR IT. Any game including bots should allow players to leave without consequence. This is what drives me away from enjoying quickplay and actually having fun with the game.

I go into a game, have players who have no clue what they’re doing on their character, and we lose. That’s totally ok. Then I get dropped into a bot match, which I leave. Then I cross my fingers that the next game isn’t a bot match as well. It turns out it is, so then I simply get off the game.

Maybe there are players that always would lose in QP unless they are facing bots, because that is their skill level. But if you are worried about skill level and player engagement, simply let them have their bot matches, and allow any player to leave if they want. Players shouldn’t be forced to sit through ai spawn door hold matches. This approach of toeing the line between competitive players with a hidden(but wide) MMR, and casual players who are simply thrown directly into a bot match on loss, doesn’t serve the vast majority of the player base.

There is an ai mode that is available. There is no need for bot matches.

I enjoy playing ranked. But sometimes I just want to get on, and practice with different characters and have a fun and relaxed game, where I can practice mechanics and positioning. I can’t do that against a bot team who walks down main, slowly, and in a straight line.

I would love to see the data on those players who end up losing bot matches. Maybe I’m simply in too high of an MMR where that will never be the case. What is the percentage? Because those players who lose against bots will certainly not get better playing against real players, by facing bots over and over. And maybe those players don’t want to improve, they just want to kill stuff. Add PVE and shuffle those losing to bots players over to that. STOP PENALIZING YOUR DEDICATED PLAYERS FOR PLAYING THE CASUAL MODE.
