Caillou was a Good Kids' Cartoon and Gets Far Too Much Hate

Some of my fondest memories as a kid when it comes to watching cartoons were of Caillou. The show has such a calm, playful atmosphere that really soothed me when i was Caillou watching age. The amount of temper tantrums he had were normal for a 4 year old and were in the minority of episodes compared to the times he showed natural curiosity for a 4 year old and even empathy when the consequences of his actions.

Many posts blame Caillou for their kids' behavioral issues that supposedly stop when they stop watching Caillou. That seems way overblown when you look at the content of the show. It's mostly just a 4 year old exploring life with his family and at school with normal 4 year old meltdowns. He's not perfect but he usually learns his lesson like any kid and his some nice bonding moments with his homies. The art style, voice acting, and most plots aren't anything offensive and have a distinct, calming vibe.
