Contouring for older skin as a beginner, started at 43 and it's not as hard as I thought
I avoided contouring my whole life because I assumed it was complicated and only for people with a lot of free time or a makeup artist background. Finally decided to actually try it and I think I made it into a bigger thing in my head than it needed to be.
What actually worked for me was approaching it as adding warmth and shadow rather than trying to reshape my face. Gentle, soft. Two strokes, not carving. Cream formula was way easier to work with than I expected. The technique that helped most was using the product on a damp sponge rather than applying directly from the stick, it gives you way more control over how much goes on.
For anyone else in this age range who's been scared to try it, it's genuinely accessible once you stop watching tutorials aimed at 25-year-olds.
