Worked with Shiprocket, NimbusPost… now at Shipmozo — here’s what most sellers get wrong about shipping

I’ve worked closely with multiple shipping aggregators — including Shiprocket and NimbusPost — and now I’m part of the team at Shipmozo.

And honestly, after seeing things from both sides (seller + platform), one thing is very clear:

Most shipping problems are not courier issues. They’re decision issues.

⚠️ What I used to think earlier:

  • “This courier is unreliable”
  • “That courier has too many delays”
  • “COD orders always fail”

But when you actually look at data across thousands of shipments…

The same courier performs:

  • great in one pincode
  • terrible in another

The real problem nobody explains properly:

Most sellers are still:

  • assigning couriers manually
  • using fixed priority rules
  • or just going with “what worked before”

But shipping doesn’t work like that anymore.

What this leads to :

  • Hidden RTO spikes in certain regions
  • Inconsistent delivery timelines
  • No control over courier performance
  • More orders ≠ more efficiency

What changed my perspective

Instead of asking:

We look at:
“Which courier is best for THIS order in THIS location?”

That includes:

  • pin-code-level performance
  • delivery success rate
  • COD risk
  • past courier behaviour

This is where AI courier allocation actually makes sense

Not in a buzzword way — but practically:

  • Every order gets evaluated individually
  • Courier is selected dynamically
  • System keeps learning from outcomes

And this solves something very real:
Shipping stops being random

Honest takeaway

Even if you’re not using Shipmozo:

If you're still:

  • using fixed courier setup
  • or manually selecting based on habit

You’re probably:
losing money without realizing it
