Will we miss loved ones in heaven

I had a friend as me this question and the more i thought the less i could answer. If there is no pain in heaven, then i wouldn’t be able to miss my loved ones who are in hell. But then i’d argue that if my feelings towards people i loved are just removed from me, that isn’t me anymore. It’s basically just me being brainwashed. Is my POV wrong or is there something i am missing?
