Did me and him have a karmic contract?

In 2023 I had a huge crush on this guy and we started talking but it was only a month. He was my dream guy, I felt so happy I actually got an opportunity to speak to him after silently crushing all those months. After things ended he cut me off completely and then I went into depression for almost a year I became obsessed with him!! I remember pleading that I would one day get over him. Also to mention he was younger than me and I could absolutely not see him in a lustful way he was too pure and perfect for that. And I felt like I had this sort of motherly love for him and if I ever thought of him in a lustful way it would feel so wrong. Given these feelings, do you think we had a past life connection? Because when I first saw him I was instantly in love and he literally felt like home to me. And our chemistry was also off the charts but after he left I felt like I became nothing and he was always appearing in my dream after that too.
