I keep getting torn at the entrance to my vagina when I have sex with my fwb.. what can I do, and should I tell him or try to deal with it on my own?

Health concerns

Okay so some context: I am very new to sex. My fwb is the first man I’ve been intimate with so I have no other experience to draw from here.

Basically, we’ve had sex two times now and the first time it hurt REALLY bad (but not constantly throughout the whole time we were having sex, it was just a recurring sharp pain during some positions / angles). Then the second time it didn’t hurt nearly as bad, but still did every few thrusts. Both times I ended up bleeding quite a bit, but nothing crazy. Both times I ended up sore for days.

I tried not to be too worried about this, just chalking it up to the fact that I’m new to sex and my body simply needs to get used to it, however, I checked myself out down there with a mirror and now I’m a bit concerned. I have a very noticeable tear at the opening to my vagina. It’s maybe about 3/4 of an inch long and it’s red and irritated looking (we had sex 3 days ago, so it’s not fully healed I guess.) it stings a little bit when I touch it, but otherwise there’s no real pain. I’ve not noticed any other issues down there (no signs of infection or anything) but the tear is still scaring me.

I want to continue having sex with him, obviously, but I am worried that this isn’t normal and there may be something wrong. I really don’t want to keep making the tear worse or not giving it enough time to fully heal in between, but I also don’t want to have to wait multiple weeks after having sex with him to be intimate again every time. Before anyone asks, yes we have foreplay and yes I get very wet every time, so I don’t think it’s a lubrication issue.

So basically, I would like some advice on what I can do to improve my situation and stop the pain / injury, but more importantly I would like to know if this is something I should bring up with him in more detail. I’ve told him about the pain during sex and the blood, but I haven’t told him about the soreness for days after and the tear. I’m nervous that sharing this with him would be tmi and scare him off or something cuz he might think it’s too big of a burden to be worried about me getting injured during sex idk. I don’t want him thinking I’m high maintenance or something. Also, I’m not sure if there’s really anything he can do to help aside from going slower during sex or something (which I don’t really want him to slow down lol) So, should I tell him?

TL;DR I keep experiencing pain / blood during sex and now I have a tear at my vaginal opening, wondering what I can do to fix this and whether or not I should share this detail with my partner
