Upwork vs Freelancer

So I tried Upwork for over 1 month and never landed a client. I tried the Freelancer website for free and I landed my first client in less than a week. That makes me ask, is Upwork oversaturated and not really working for freelancers? Or did I just get lucky with Freelancer?

During my time on Upwork, I always blamed myself—thinking that I was not writing good proposals, that my profile was not attractive, or that I needed to work more on my portfolio. But landing my first client (even if underpaid because I was desperate) made me think: maybe the issue isn't just me. Maybe the platform is not good enough (I'm DevOps).

I'm not giving up on Upwork, but I want to know if you know other freelance platforms I could use? I won't put all my expectations on just one platform.
