[RE] Spoliers for End Game L.I.S: Reunion
I want to start from the beginning tbh.
Choices:
Our choices basically did not matter what so ever since the start. There was no point in if we romanced Amanda or not. This game is why I hate time travel in games because what was the point of giving them this big "When Safi comes back we'll be ready" type of deal at the end of Double Exposure just to wipe everyone's memories anyway. "Everyone started to forget but you reminded me" that's just me phrasing what Moses said. So we just pushing passed this and not revisiting this? Then a lot of other choices are pretty minor when they take effect almost immediately, plus there weren't that many major choices that actually mattered that much. Off top of my head it was telling Chole and Moses they died, Telling Safi the truth about the fire, telling Yazmin we saw Safi. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that was it maybe missed 1 or 2. But even then the choices were like no brainers and obvious picks with again no major consequences, not even to our relationship.
Romances:
Then there was this love for Amanda that went no where even though we were supposed to gain her trust back and properly fall in love with her. The game forces Chole and Max as the endgame couple. Like they didn't even give us the choice of choosing anyone else not even Safi for a couple.
Story:
Not the biggest fan of the story I enjoyed playing the game minus a few issues but the game was pretty smooth, but that story was kinda all over. The combined dimensions plus when we did do time travel and it didn't make more sense. Having Safi run around and just pop up very few times? Then they brought up the fact she's been staying shape shipped as her ex (that we didn't continue to explore btw). Then the light house was hyped up the entire game then when they opened it, it was just so Safi could attempt to play on a different save file. They were trying to hard with the concepts in my opinion. Like Double Exposure was amazing with so many possibilities just to start throwing everything away mid way through and making a new story. I like life is strange but to start expanding Max's powers and do nothing with it is on par with how Safi could technically make someone else. Diamond was written out of the game why? We get in touch with her through an email once and that was it. We weren't going to touch on her powers? We weren't going to expand on there being many others? The protest was hyped up the whole game as if a Riot was going to break out but didn't, The Abraxian's were a cult that we only touched on for plot purposes to question Yazmin and we did nothing else with them. There weren't any other major consequences to going back in time 3 days minus Moses pot blowing up, and we get changing and changing things we no major drawbacks. I wish they went with a more simpler approach. Once they mentioned her rewind was back for this game I was expecting something on par with the first game which we kinda got but it wasn't a murder who dunnit. I might be being to harsh on this game story wise but It was still fine and IMO not better than the first and not better than Double Exposure. Having said that it was a good ending and a goodbye to Max and Chole. However I do think this game should've been longer.
I might change my opinion after my second playthrough for my 100% but for now I think a a 6.5/10 maybe a 7/10
Gameplay:
This is insanely minor but I wish they gave us an option to skip dialogs in the settings
Characters:
Safi- They were trying so hard to make it seem like Safi was the bad guy even in the first game. Safi wasn't really a bad person she really just wanted answer's and always felt alone minus the chokehold her mother tried to put on her. I liked Safi and wish we got to deepen our relationship it always felt as if they were meant to be more. She also wasn't in the game enough for me.
Vinh- Couldn't care less about Vinh never liked him in either game and didn't even want him to be considered friends cause he was an ass.
Max- Max is cool I like Max a lot but my God was she slow. The amount of times a lot of problems could've been solved just by a slight rewind, like the end of the game where she just had to rewind the ladder falling. Not pre-opening/pre-breaking the locks at the end of the game to save more students. She made a lot of "No shit" comments.
- Also where tf was "Evil Max." You're telling me there was only one Max with no alternate choices minus the fact they had multiple times??? We touched on dead and alive Safi/Chole but not the Max? And her powers keep evolving yet we don't do anything with it...at all. I can do an essay on her powers and time travel along but not today...
Chole- It was cool having Chole around she helped a bit but my biggest thing was what was she thinking at the end of the game to climb the ledge plot demanded she lived. It was nice to do something with the before the storm system. I personally do think Chole is not good for Max's Life.
Moses- Game did not have enough Moses in my opinion. I love Moses easy best guy I've got no complaints.
Yasmin- Eh
Owen- All his dialog was, was "I'm busy"
Lucas- They tried to make Lucas out to be the bad guy but I dismissed that notion so fast. Lucas is a thief and doesn't have a truly violent bone in his body to start a fire, especially someone trying to bring his life back up.
Reggie/Loretta- Very little was going on with them especially Loretta. We really only needed her so we could snoop and that was it.
