Job provider advice
im currently on jobseeker with IEA, i have upper scoliosis which makes it painful for me to stand for long periods of time or carry heavy items, 3 months ago i was with atwork and they were great, the provider i was with wrote down all my preferences, i specified that i couldn’t work a normal retail job and that i was studying, she took away my job obligations and told me she would send me jobs she thought fit and if i liked them she would send them my resume, she also moved my appointments to phone ones which was helpful as i dont drive
the problem is that i moved recently and decided to stay with atwork however its completely different at this location. my provider had me sign a detailed job plan which i wasn’t aware of, she told me i need to attend activities, and apply for retail jobs, i told her that i would prefer jobs like receptionist or anything similar where i could sit and she said that would be unlikely. she also said it didn’t matter that i was studying as i was on jobseeker, when i requested that my appointments be in the afternoon she told me she can’t keep making them for the afternoon because centrelink wouldn’t like that and she’d get in trouble for it? all my jobseeker appointments have been afternoon and i’ve never had anyone say this to me before
i know i can change providers but im not sure if it’s worth it incase the next one is the same, im thinking of just cancelling my claim and living from savings for awhile and applying for jobs on my own term even though i have applied to hundreds and had no luck, i also had an activity recently which i wasn’t aware of as there was nothing on mygov she told me she’d let it go as it was my first one but i have to attend all future ones. any advice would be appreciated
