As the scent of iron wafts through the heavy darkness, you flick the blood off your blade with one swift motion, already on the hunt for your next prey after liberating the one lying on your feet. You know your way forward but you hesitate to take it. Memories of your time in the Pack flash through your mind. Lush landscapes draped in the colors of violence and survival. The final gasps of your targets, their faces illuminated by the glint of your steel and the flash of a muzzle. The traces you were following start to blend into one another, crudely being enveloped by some unknown motivation driving you forward. The night howls, the light fades. The scenery blooms red as the same old doubts begin to replay in your head. But thoughts of that trusted person and the momentum of a purpose greater than yourself pushes you forward. Mission after mission, task after task, you back out and then dive back into that unfathomable darkness, carving your signature into the world. You soon lose track of each other, slipping into a rhythm of carnage that seems a far cry from the values you swore to uphold. In your wake, all color has been lost save for the merciless rain of crimson. To the wayward mercenary and the headstrong young chieftain, would any other life lived belong to you?
