We learned to dance with

both our left feet.

We sewed our clothes from

different fabrics.

And forced to sit and watch

our usual antics.

We took the longest route

to our quickest wreckage.

There was a cold ache that

we failed to bandage,

and before we knew it,

the flame that used to be our home

became frozen.

And when the sky poured its heavy rain,

the sun became our highest bid.

We rolled the dice of chances,

but our lives were never made to trade.

And so you left and I resigned,

our whispered words:

"I love you, nevermind."
