— RX 9070 XT New Build, crashing across multiple games, exhausted all fixes. Need help.
Hey everyone. I built a brand new PC about a week ago and have been dealing with constant game crashes ever since. It’s not just one game — multiple titles are affected. I’m at my wit’s end after trying everything I can think of.
Specs:
∙ GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 9070 XT 16GB
∙ CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
∙ Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk WiFi
∙ RAM: Corsair 32GB DDR5 6000MHz (in correct A2/B2 slots)
∙ Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe
∙ PSU: Corsair RM850x 850W (second hand Amazon Resale — unused condition)
∙ OS: Windows 11 fresh install
The problem:
Games crash randomly — sometimes on launch, sometimes mid game. Dune Awakening is completely unplayable. Other titles also crash. Desktop and light apps work fine.
Everything I’ve already tried:
∙ Multiple fresh Windows 11 installs
∙ DDU clean driver wipe and reinstall across multiple driver versions (25.9.2, 25.11.1, 26.1.1, 26.3.1)
∙ Virtual memory increased to 16000MB manually
∙ Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling disabled
∙ All overlays disabled (Steam, AMD, Xbox Game Bar, Discord)
∙ Disabled integrated graphics through Device Manager
∙ BIOS already set to PEG for dedicated GPU
∙ High Performance GPU set to RX 9070 XT in Windows Graphics Settings
∙ Verified game files multiple times
∙ BIOS updated to latest version
∙ EXPO enabled — RAM confirmed running at DDR5 6000MT/s
∙ PBO enabled
∙ Two separate PCIe cables from PSU to GPU
∙ SFC /scannow and DISM health restore run
∙ GPU fully reseated
∙ RAM in correct dual channel slots A2 B2
Current suspicion:
Starting to wonder if the PSU is faulty. It came second hand from Amazon Resale but looked completely unused. & once I run dune and it crashes after few seconds, apps on pc start having issues like slowing down or crashing. Every game crash I have to restart pc. So far old games work but new titles I’ve tried simply dont.
TL;DR: Brand new build with RX 9070 XT crashing across multiple games. Fresh Windows, DDU clean driver installs across 4 different driver versions, BIOS update, all settings tweaks done. Second hand PSU now suspected. Desktop runs perfectly fine. Need fresh eyes.
Thank you 🫠
