Something that's been boggling my mind

As far as I can tell, the EFF is fully anti-xenophobia; this is their official party line. However, I've encountered a lot of xenophobic EFF supporters and none of the ones I managed to speak to would engage with me when I asked how they can support a party that is absolutely opposed to what should be a deal-breaking issue for them.

I don't have any grand conclusion, with the recent attacks, this dynamic has been confusing me a lot.
