RN to RN move

I'm interviewing for a position at the VA where I'm currently working. It would be a RN to RN transfer, but I would be missing out on weekend and night differential at the new job. I'm looking forward to a better work/life balance but dreading the loss of income. Is there a point in the process where I can negotiate for a higher step/pay? Thanks!
