Experian: Unable to create account to manage security freeze. Experian said it couldn't verify me. Calls to Experian ends up with hours of automated response loop or just a hang up.

I placed a security freeze online with Experian successfully in 2017 and I still have my PIN. However, today I can no longer thaw (temporarily lift) my freeze on Experian website using my PIN. I had to call and when I call, all I get is the automated service that only allow me to remove my freeze completely.

So, I tried to create an account with Experian to manage my security freeze more easily. However, I tried for two days and after 7-8 attempts on Experian website and on Experian app on my smartphone, I still get the same error message saying that I cannot create an account because Experian online system cannot verify my identify. This same error message asked me to call Experian phone number 1-888-397-3742.

However, when I called this number and many other Experian number I could find on Reddit, I was looped into the same automated response until my line was disconnected or the automated response hang up on me. It seemed that no matter which Experian phone number I called, I always ended up with the same automated response.

I did try the hack to bypass the automated response by saying "start a new dispute." However, when I did get a live person eventually, I get a rude response from an Experian agent saying that she cannot help me because I don't really have a dispute to file. Instead, she transferred me to the same automated response.

Is there any other suggestions? Is it legal for Experian as one of the three major credit bureaus to make it so difficult for us who are worried about identity theft to create an account to manage our security freeze?
