Girlfriend harassed from “social house” on our street, how to proceed
Dear all,
We live on a street close to the city center for a bit longer than a year and from moment one it came to our attention that some of our neighbors were very much asocial as you guys say here.
There is some kind of social house on our street (not really sure who runs it and what is the purpose) but police comes by often to make arrests due to fights and violence. There is also drug dealing going on; I have no prove but no doubts either.
We are fine with this, we are just unlucky wit these neighbors but we couldn’t be less bothered honestly. However, there are some new tenants and their attitude is a problem.
The 2 men catcall and whistle to my girlfriend from the other side of the street and from their window. She is scared and doesn’t know what to do. She doesn’t want to go to the police as “nothing has happened yet” and honestly does not have the time for that.
I would like to prepare a brief letter for the town hall. I do not know who is responsible of that house but it is clearly social housing of some kind. I would like to forward the complain to the right person/department and hopefully get this people removed and relocated (although I have 0 hope for this).
What is the best course of action here? Who can I/she contact regarding this matter and what possible solutions are there?
It feels fairly unsafe honestly. In my home country this would be handled by the police as they are quite serious about sexual harassment toward women, how does this work here? My girlfriend is Dutch but from a different province so she is also a bit lost.
