Old baseball gloves

Wondering if there's anything I can do to save a couple of decades-old baseball gloves from my husband's childhood? They look okay on the outside and I was hoping to use them with our kids. But the interiors have disintegrated and your hand comes out coated black and dirty. The only thing I can think of is to put on a nitrile glove with each use but of course that is so wasteful.
