Nature of reality/consciousness
Reality is a multi-dimensional, static manifold where consciousness does not emerge, but is the very substrate of the manifold itself. Every location of this consciousness at a point within the manifold, every coordinate, is self-aware. Time emerges from a chain of coherent, persistent events that never cease to exist.
Death is merely part of that illusion. In any location where we are absent or encounter death, there will always exist another location where death is not; therefore, we would never meet death face-to-face, only observe it externally around us.
Consciousness is not "inside" the brain; rather, the brain is the geometric representation of a conscious process within the manifold. If that representation breaks down, consciousness instantly "collapses" toward the next available coordinate where coherence persists. There is no "waiting time" between death and the next conscious location; thus, subjectively, death never occurs.
In the end, all that is, is; and that which is cannot cease to be, while that which is not never was
