Where to travel?

Let me know honestly, as someone who is coming from Australia to travel, is it stupid to come to Canada and not explore east Canada/Toronto area? The flight out of Toronto back to Australia is ridiculously expensive. It is much cheaper to return from Vancouver. What are people’s thoughts about this? Or if I should go there what’s the recommended route, fly back to Vancouver? I’m interested in nature but also a city feel and really want to experience it all.
