About to start IVF and have been told so much negativity… please give me some realistic encouragement
I have PCOS. I’m 27. I’ve done 8 cycles of ovulation induction with Letrozole and 1 cycle + trigger.
I’ve had 1 miscarriage at 6+6w in August 2025, 3 chemical pregnancies (October and December 2025, and March 2026). We have had every year possible (including a laparoscopy), everything came back normal other than some mildly low vitamin D and iron and mild adenomyosis (FS doesn’t believe it has any influence on our fertility history). We’ve done all genetic testing and sperm DNA fragmentation testing… all normal. My FS says she believes the issue is my eggs have probably been poorer quality, and it’s been recommended to start IVF to do some PGT-A testing and reduce the risk. Our FS said we are very likely to have a baby going through IVF + PGT-A.
However, all I’m seeing and being told is the negatives of IVF. I’m being told the worst of the worst horror stories and now I’m left feeling anxious that I’m going to go through egg collection and end up with no viable embryos.
I need some words of encouragement, but realistic words of encouragement. I’d love to hear everyone’s experiences - positive or negative, but I just am afraid I’m going to be an unlucky one.
