Single Motor drivers are getting out of hand and it's frustrating
I get it man. Gas prices are going up. Okay. Fine. Pero sabot kung sabot.
The other day, galing akong Gemini Village sa may Apokon. Ta's sabi ko sa rider "Boss, Gmall 30." Pumayag s'ya. Okay. Nice. 'Yan naman talaga binibigay ko. 25 is too low for them kahit YUN NAMAN TALAGA YUNG PRESYO. Pero sige. Singol eh. Lumiko na kami dun sa Green Coffee. And bro hits me with the "Boss, dungagi ra'g 10 boss". And my panicked ass thought na 35 nalang ioffer ko. Pumayag s'ya. What's annoying is tumawa pa s'ya. Good for him i guess. My partner confronted me about it saying that I should've stood my ground. And they were right. Sabot naman gud tong 30. Dapat kung gusto mo 40 bayarin ko, dapat sa simula pa lang ng usapan. Wag yung biglain mo nalang ako habang ang bilis ng takbo mo trying to beat a red light. In hind-sight, I should've just gotten off right away with my dignity.
Another instance happened a few mins ago. 12nn ish.
Galing akong Hugo Bistro. Di ako naglakad kasi mainit. Tapos pumara ako ng singol (again).
"Sir, HARBCO. 20." Mind you. 17 is the correct rate.
He paused.
"Asa na s'ya?"
"Didto ra, atbang sa Trade School dapit" Just Google Maps Hugo Bistro and see how near HARBCO is.
He nods. Ok. Sabot. We go. Dumating kami HARBCO and I tell him na magliko. Once. Probably 5-10 seconds later we stop. BTW, HARBCO is still visible. I can still physically walk up to the building's lot. We are physically in HARBCO's vicinity. Then I get off. And he says "Dungagi ra'g 5, boss" and I ask "Ngano man?" He explains na malayo daw . And I tell him "Sir, 20 ra man gud jud among hatag diri". He goes on to say sumth I can't understand. Maybe he was panicking bcs he couldn't scam me out of 5 pesos or his helmet muffled his voice idk. But I remember something along the lines of "... pang Candy ra nako. Sinabtanay nalang unta ta sir." SINABTANAY?? Brother our sinabtanay-ed was You get me from Point A to Point B for 20 pesos. I stood there dumbfounded with hands in my empty pockets. Then while yapping about why I should give him 5 pesos he leaves. In a rush mind you. As if hulihin ko siya or sumth.
Again, I'm not angry about the prices. 5 pesos is nothing to me. I'm angry about how they try to milk the 5-10 pesos out of me and everyone else in (probably) the most unethical way. Anyway. I'm gonna get back to work.
