Please help find this book: VR world where life is perfect
hello all! one day i was on paid readers club scrolling and came across a book i read through that website. unfortunately i never got around to finishing the beginning but i do remember what took place. i have tried describing it on many search engines and sadly cannot seem to find it. so here is what happened based on my reading:
Therapist (female) lost her only child, her daughter in a car accident. I think she or her daughter’s name was Elizabeth (?). Therapist has husband who I believe was sick and would sleep all day, not getting out of bed. Therapist has patients who turned to a virtual reality recreation of their lives where grief and loss never happened.
Patient A lost his wife but in his VR life she was still alive, although it wasn’t quit her. He was so consumed by this fake life that he forgot his real life. He couldn’t recognize his wife in real life photographs due to being so used to the VR life.
Patient B was an artist painter. He had forgotten his skill so therefore turned to the virtual life where his paintings were perfect, he had them hung in a museum I believe. But in real life when he picked up the brush, he just couldn’t do it.
Therapist sometime later takes a bus in town and sees a building that offers the VR life to anyone and everyone. It was a business. She came across protesters as well who were protesting against it.
I swear i thought the book was called parallel something but i don’t even know. I am so sorry this was a long description but I am so very desperate to find this book. If anyone can help me i would appreciate it with my entire being. Thank you :)
