Voice Memos getting split after interruptions is hurting my idea capture workflow — how do you handle this?
I use Voice Memos a lot for capturing ideas, journaling, and quick planning. It’s one of the fastest ways for me to get thoughts out without breaking focus.
But there’s one thing that keeps disrupting the workflow:
When a recording gets interrupted (phone call, Bluetooth reconnect, etc.), iOS splits it into multiple clips. So one thought can easily turn into 2–3 separate files.
This creates friction:
- ideas get fragmented
- harder to review later
- extra time organizing recordings
- breaks flow during brainstorming
I was surprised there’s no simple way to merge them directly on the phone. The only options I’ve found involve exporting to a computer and using something like GarageBand, Audacity, or ffmpeg.
That feels like a lot of overhead for something that happens pretty often.
Curious how others handle this:
- Do you just leave them split?
- Manually organize later?
- Use a different recording workflow?
- Any better solution I’m missing?
Feels like a small thing, but it impacts daily capture quite a bit.
