Wanted to write my experience of visiting Dehradun.

TellDehradun

I had come to Dehradun as a kid earlier and found it very pretty.

Have taken train rides till haridwar and I used to be soo happy whenever the mountains would start on the route from Lucknow.

I visited Dehradun alone for an interview.

My bus arrived at 2 am. A man started following me as I searching for my booked hotel near bst. He was following me and ask me do I need to go anywhere in auto and kept standing there while I was looking for my hotel.

I couldn't find my booked hotel.

I saw a man in one hotel lobby. I went to him panicking and explained my situation.

He went to hotel which showed on gmap.

it seemed the hotel had changed and they said they don't see any booking from me.

It was 2 am and I was panicking.

I went back to same hotel lobby. And asked the same if he has any room in his hotel.

he was kind, walked with me till my booking hotel at 2 am when I said I am scared.

2nd. I went for my interview. I needed to get some photocopies done. I asked a grocery store uncle.

he explained it's far ( on haridwar road).

After some time he took me on his scooty till the photocopy place. And also guided me on a shortcut for my way back.

The photocopy guy said he doesn't do passport size photos but specially did it for me since I had an interview.

I arrived at the interview and requested them to take my interview today as I couldn't come yesterday ( I was stuck due to snowfall in himachal).

They were polite and obliged.

One uncle there he was just arranging all the participants etc specifically took care of me. Asked me to study and not worry, later explained about my docs where can I get the notary done.

He also changed my bench so that my interview ends sooner ( I was at the last since I had resechulded to that day).

Inspite of everything, people were so kind and helpful.

upon arriving I had felt really unsafe and questioned my decision of coming so far all alone.

But these good people really touched my heart.
