Thoughts- Had top surgery - double incision w/ nip reconstruction
Hey guys,
I just had surgery this past Friday and wanted to share my thoughts so far:
I was a “well endowed” person before transitioning and I was not gifted the opportunity for key hole. Although I envy the recovery process I am grateful for my support team and my surgeon. Unfortunately insurance didn’t cover the nerve reconstruction (I had to pay out of pocket 8k) and I don’t regret it.
Recovery was not what I expected:
I feel good, minus my limited range of motion. I’ve taken a few pain killers but overall the pain hasn’t been terrible. This will also vary depending on the type of surgery you have.
Things I wasn’t prepared for:
-Bloating. Genuinely looked like I was with child and hated it the first few days. This will pass but I was shocked.
-Constipation. Probably affected the paying but dear lord it was 4 days before I had a BM and I was clinging to the toilet for dear life.
-Nip tingles. I opted to reconstruct the nerves and oh my god occasionally it feels like I am being electrocuted
- vibrating?? Not sure if others have felt this way but occasionally I get the phantom vibrations and I think my phone is going off but it’s just my incisions. Not uncomfortable, just odd
