Blood Test protocol

I have blood tests regularly, a minimum of every two months for a chronic condition. I have these either at local phlebotomy clinics or at my GP practice. I needed an additional blood test yesterday, which was done by the phlebotomist at the gp practice. I also have medical ptsd and am highly sensitive during appointments. The phlebotomist yesterday did not sterilise the area at all prior to inserting a needle the first time, then decided an alternative location was needed and did not wipe the second site either. In fact she was initially going to reuse the first needle in the second site even though it had already punctured the skin.

This has now lead me to think that the blood samples may be contaminated and may also have put me at risk of an infection. I believe that this is not best practice and has unnecessarily caused me additional risk and worry.

I spoke to gp surgery staff to raise this point, and I was phoned back later in the morning to be told that as the surgery only has short appointments for blood tests, they don't have time wipe the area any more as it might still be wet when they put the needle in and cause a problem. I checked my NHS app after and it states ''use of antiseptic technique' on the notes which is not correct.

Are the GP staff just trying to fob me off and cover up a mistake or is it really unnecessary to sterilise the area? Which sounds unbelievable really, am I being too sensitive though?
