Backing up entire SD card but afraid of corruption again? Am I too paranoid?

Apologies for the dumb post. The first time I was modding my 3ds, my card had corrupted after a failed QR code game install (have no clue why) - I have all of my games downloaded now, and after trying to use FTPD it says the estimated time to copy my files is around ~9hrs. I understand taking out my SD card and using a reader is the best/fastest way to backup your card but I haven't taken it out since because I'm paranoid of it happening again.

Am I worrying too much? tbh I just need some reassurance 😭 thanks
