Has anyone been to Sea Mountain Inn in Desert Hot Springs California?

Clubs: Review/Inquiry

I just made reservations for [a future date].

I’m curious about what experiences are generally speaking. I’m also curious if there is any advice, given my gender identity.

I don’t want to be controversial, so if you have been to the resort and do not support the LGBTQ+ community, then please just comment on your general experience of the resort. If you have been to the resort and are familiar with the LGBTQ+ experience at the resort, please share.

My background and a bit of context:

I will be going with my longtime partner. I am a nonbinary person and my partner is a cisgender man (simple explanation for those that do not know: cisgender just means that the gender on one’s birth certificate is the SAME as the gender they identify as. Transgender means that the gender on one’s birth certificate is DIFFERENT from the gender they identify as; nonbinary falls under the trans umbrella). I am assigned female at birth (AFAB), but identify as nonbinary (at not and explanation on pronouns for those that do not know: should you find the need to use pronouns in reference to me, my pronouns are they/them; they/them are accepted as grammatically correct when used in reference to a singular or plural noun; when I refer to myself, I am a singular being and I use I/me, if I’m referring to myself and more than one additional person then I use we/us; I hope that clears up the pronoun situation).

I have previously been to this resort but it was over 10 years ago and was before I came out as transgender (remember nonbinary falls under the transgender umbrella). Last time I went to this resort I identified as and presented as a woman. When I went, I was with my then-wife (we were a lesbian couple). She and I only did the day package. When we went, we just played with each other and watched other people. We had a few couples approach us, but we were too shy to engage.

For my future reservations-

When I go with my current partner, we are staying the night. I have not had any gender-affirming surgeries, so when I am naked I simply present as a hairy woman (I do not shave and I still have boobs and vagina). I have a “masculine” haircut. I do take HRT (testosterone) so I now have a mustache, but it’s like a teenager peach fuzz type mustache. When we are wearing clothing, my partner and I present as a male-male gay couple, but whenever we go to clothing optional or nude resorts we present as a heterosexual/straight couple. We have been to several lifestyle clubs in the Southern California region, and are able to have a good time. Usually it requires me being willing to accept being misgendered, which I have been able to tolerate.

(Please know that my intention with the explanations were to help people in case they didn’t know, if you already knew, then I apologize if it felt like I was talking down to you.)

I’m hoping that Sea Mountain Inn will be good, but I want to hear so information about how it’s currently being run, and (if you know) how the LGBTQ+ community is treated there.

Thank you for reading this, and thank you in advance for your kindness.
