Growing pet peeve

The idea that sexual abuse of children is cyclical, victims often become perpetrators... While it is valid, it just seems like such a fucking fallacy to me. Yes, of the men who become abusers, a statistically significant portion of them were themselves abused. But jfc, the amount of women who were abused, harassed, molested, or worse and don't become offenders just makes that statement seem... Inaccurate? Skewed to center men?
