Archiving Web

I just learned about the whole archive.today drama yesterday, which I used for yrs to archive my links. I mean, yeah, it happens with projects like this: finger-pointing; each side blames the other, presenting contradictory, partial, and redacted emails w/ screenshots in their defense. Take it with a grain of salt.

The key takeaway remains: archive.today pushed malware to its users to run DDoS attacks for some petty reasons. It no longer makes sense to archive websites there, expecting to reliably restore unredacted copies years later - it defeats the entire purpose of archiving.

In short: did you consider Annas Archive expanding into archiving websites by request in general or in light of the archive.today situation? Seems like the Wayback Machine (which has tons of issues on its own) is now the only viable option.
