Does Resident Evil have an age problem?
First, let me give y'all a quick breakdown of our main cast ages as of 2026 (sorry if it isn't exactly the right age)
Chris - 53
Leon - 49
Jill - 52
Claire - 47
Rebecca - 46
Sherry - 40
Ada - 52
In my eyes Capcom is very stuck with this aging problem they got right now. They tried to fix this problem using Jill with the T virus, making her age slower physically. Which most fans aren't happy with this since it was clearly trying to make the girls not age, bc capcom want to keep their girl characters "young" in terms of appearance. But in re9 leon in terms of looks he does look like a mid 40s man, and as for sherry she does look to be in her 30s. (her makeup is hard to see her acc beauty) So this leave me to think, the last time the main cast of girl characters appear in a game that isn't a remake was 10+ years ago except sherry she is in re9. So this leave me to think. Is capcom scared to use their older girl characters bc of age and what fans expect with appearance and movement from soon to be a mid 50 year old women? If it is then the chances of us seeing the main cast of female characters are very slim, since capcom is also focused on remakes which will feature the main female cast in those so fans can enjoy those. So this is why the aging factor comes in play in terms of female characters.
Imo I don't think capcom will truly bring back the main female cast back in terms of main characters for upcoming new games that aren't remakes. But I do think capcom should utilizes Sherry and make her as a protagonist for a new re game before she also turn into the other female characters. A game surrounding sherry and jake to me, sounds amazing to me, since I really liked their dynamic in re6.
What y'all think of this problem that capcom have, and feel free to comment about your thoughts.
