Acquiring a Private Obituary’s Information

Hello! Can I contact the funeral home my great grandfather was buried with and ask for his obituary info? If so, what would I say?

My great grandmother never put it in the papers or anything and he had a private funeral (that I attended), therefore I can’t find it anywhere. He passed in 2014 and I know the month and day of his birth just not the year.
