Amid growing anticipation for Season 2 due to its immense popularity, director Maggie Kang humorously responded to questions about the Season 2 confirmation, saying, "I can't reveal it," and added, "I want to keep it a secret. No spoilers at all." She continued, "Honestly, we have a big idea in mind. It's not detailed yet. But like our first film, director Chris and I will create a movie we want to watch. Expect it. It will be bigger and more eventful than the first."

Director Maggie Kang, who previously expressed interest in incorporating heavy metal and trot genres into Season 2, explained, "My thoughts haven't changed, but the story isn't finalized. Trot is a uniquely Korean style, so I want to introduce it to the world. Heavy metal is also a base of K-pop, so I want to showcase it."

The personal affection for 'Korean-ness,' the root of 'KPop Demon Hunters,' was also evident. Maggie Kang explained, "I wanted to make this film because, as a child, I watched movies like 'Mulan' and saw Chinese and Japanese cultures through animations. I couldn't see Korean culture. So I wanted to give Korea such a film. I felt it was needed not just by me but by all Koreans. We've made and enjoyed many animations, but I felt we lacked our own project."

She added, "Another thought was about the misunderstandings surrounding overseas Koreans. Even those born in Korea might feel they're 'not fully Korean.' Especially in the entertainment industry, entering the global market, I thought people like me and Lee Jae, who belong to both cultures, could bridge the gap. I wanted to represent everyone like us. Even if we weren't born in Korea, being part of Korean culture shouldn't diminish our 'Korean-ness' regardless of our backgrounds."
