Ok I’m getting desperate and need help. I have one female platy left in my tank that I’m trying to move out (I have two males I’m keeping in the tank) and I CANNOT catch her. The culprit is pictured. I didn’t have any real trouble catching the other 20 odd platy, but THIS one a\*\*hole makes me crazy. Her name is Salad, and she is a baby making machine who is defeating me.

I’ve been trying for two days, and she’s too fast and knows as soon as I pick up a net, she hides. I’ve tried to catch her during feedings, I’ve tried to catch her with the sunken water bottle with food in it. I’ve tried being sneaky and I’ve tried to entice her with food in the net, and I’ve tried to just chase her with the net.. I literally have other fish who swim willingly into the net, and she is just determined to stay in this tank and repopulate the entire tank with platy.

I have a planted tank and short of ruining all my plants and tanking literally everything out of my tank, I don’t know what to do to catch her. I just planted a bunch of dwarf grass and rotala too that hasn’t really rooted, and my Anacharis pulls out of the anchors all the time as it is.. I don’t want to mess it up but I’m at a loss as to how to catch her. This is a 40 gallon tank, with a betta sorority, a gourami, corycats, Kuhli loaches, snails and shrimp in addition to the three platy.

Catching troubles..
