First Impressions
I can appreciate the concept of the show. Good stuff on basing it on Brothers Grimm stuff. I heard the original stories they wrote were not exactly kid-friendly, and would likely be close to what the show's writers thought up. The gore & lore affect is both entertaining and disturbing. (Reminds me of my first feels watcing Buffy the Vampire Slayer series.)
And speaking of writing, character development is one key attraction —or revulsion, if there are/were any haters. Either way I am still watching. My impressions so far:
Nick/Cop/Grimm: A tossed salad with ample dressing. It teases the mind to think about how at times modern law enforcement pales in comparison to medieval justice, and how the rules of game do not matter as much depending on the circumstances.
Nick/Hank/Monroe: Male friendships, even between hunter and prey in this context, work well. Love the rapport & bonding of good men. Or good wesen.
Nick/Juliette/Adalind: As far as love triangles go, this is an odd one. And annoying. IMO, none of these 2 women deserve Nick. And Nick is better off single so he can do what he must do more effectively. Unless a better suited partner comes along.
*This post will evolve I'm sure, but for now I am tuned in.
