High School Trade Classes?

I’m a high school sophomore who has recently secured an internship at a local machine shops for this summer. My question for you is this: I want to study industrial engineering in college so would taking trade classes at my local technical college while in high school be beneficial for me? This could be beneficial for college admissions, while in college. Of for work in the field. Any answered to this question or general advice for someone looking to enter this field would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
