Should I do community college method?

College Questions

okok im lowkey panicking cuz i feel like i need to make a decision soon

im considering between 3 main options for college:

Colgate University, Stony Brook University, local community college

For context, I am premed majoring in biochem planning on transferring freshman or sophomore year as I qualify for free tuition at many top schools, and so it feels like theres no reason to not try for more prestigious institutions that may open more doors.

At Colgate:

it is cheaper than stony brook by about 8k, my coa went down from 100k to around 12k, pretty good price. it is a beautiful campus with active greek life.

but I am extremely introverted and doubt i will be able to have a good social life at colgate. Im not currently worried abt that honestly tho. mainly, colgate is very isolated and im not sure it will have as many research opportunities since it is far from NYC and does not have a built in hospital like stony does. stony is an r1 research institution with en emphasis on stem research so I feel like it would be better in terms of opportunities.

at stony:

better research opportunities, hospital, stem focus, and my friends are going here

but worse price by 8k, which is considerable for me, because as a premed student im trying to go to college for as close to free as possible. also grade deflation

cc:

CHEAPEST, no need to dorm, easier to keep up gpa?, but could be risky if I fail in my attempt to transfer

what do u guys think agh
