Someone explain this to me

I ordered breakfast this morning while I got ready.

restaurant to my address, a few streets, less than 5mins drive.

Someone explain why my driver still has "one more order to pick up" along the way to my address. then when I see the route, he goes past my address, literally through my street to pick up an order elsewhere.

someone explain why this is a thing and why it exists. to me, it's plain stupid.
