Did I poison my roommates 🤔🤔
In a small, mildly ventilated living room, I just opened up a spectrum stratocaster to change the strings for the first time in fifteen years, and opened parts and wiped surfaces for the first time since before I bought it, closer to seventeen ago
Black stuff was coming out. Pulling somethings apart and reattaching involved pulling and a bit of scraping with a screwdriver. I'm condiment that I was seeing metal debris in the dust
Bout the time I was getting the major components back together, one of the two people I'm staying with walked into the living room and asked if I've been using chemicals because he smelled something rubber or Metallic and chemically. ihaven't; just been disassembling parts, wiping them with a damp paper towel, and getting black dust and debris on my clothes and the place where i sleep -_-
Eventually, the other walked in and says that he could kinda smell something too when I asked him
I can't quite smell it, but I wonder if I've been too close to notice for an hour or so, maybe inhaling that mess. Just wondering if that's a precedented problem with cleaning a really old guitar, specially without a mask or plenty of ventilation :/
