VA benefit deposit late

I have benefits for chapter 35 under my dad and we didn’t know about the benefits until much later into my current freshman year of college, so the process in getting approved and all that has been in the middle of the second semester. I’m approved, had everything sent in with my college, and got a letter with the payment schedule.

It’s the 1st now and I have my deposits going to Navy Federal so I was actually expecting my payment to be early, but it’s not showing up in any of my transactions in my account. I have private loans with payment plans, federal loans are deferred until I graduate, I’ve seen some things on this sub about how if I have loans they’ll just take it if I don’t have a payment plan, but I do! On the phone with the VA previously it seemed everything was settled and I’d be getting my payments.

I’m going to be calling in 3 days like they recommended to on the site and also recheck and make sure I’m not missing something or it was just late.

The point of this is, is this common? Does anyone else experience late payments or is this something to be expected bc of my application & approval being in the middle of my second semester. I’m slightly panicking and maybe jumping the gun because I kind of depended on this month’s payment with my backpay to lessen my burdens of a broke ass college student living alone 🫩…
