Any way we can get a weekly thread going of the my.4cents podcast? I feel we can all expand on these topics and help eachother

Discussion

I’m sure there are varying opinions on the guys, but honestly I have to say from a small touring band perspective the podcast is helpful and inspiring.

So, pardon my shill, but honestly weekly it’s nice to hear from these dudes who have been on tour and work with artist both small and super huge.

On the podcast from March 19th they had with with the nice lady, I feel the last 1/3 of that podcast they let loose and dropped some knowledge bombs - talking freely about red flags with hiring a label consultant.

This week it was nice to hear the guys talk freely again off the cuff about China and touring. As someone who speaks beginner mandarin, has friends who play small clubs there (under 200 cap) and tour there I feel though they don’t know the culture there as much. They DO NOT want the west involved. I can go further but that’s what I mean it would be cool to have a weekly thread and expand on these topics :]

I dunno, it would would be cool if we can get that going mods - because then we can take thier ideas and expand on them, agree, or disagree. Just a thought…..

Also, since I know those guys sometimes peruse this page, I’d like to ask them to keep thier topics to small touring bands that play less than 300 cap rooms because I feel that is most of their listener audience. It is cool to hear how business is done at that 1000+ audience rate though too! So it is both welcomed.

Lastly, even though they would differ an inspiring antidote is that my friends with only 3,000 follows just got signed to alternative tentacles (a known punk label out of SF). My band out of LA is touring Japan off of DM’s…. So even though if your band is small it is possible. Big ups to Matt shouting out vmo and fishmans although I prefer ymo ;)
