Seeking a Vacuum/Mop Recommendation for First Robot Cleaner
Looking for recommendations for a robot vacuum + mop setup. No real budget constraint, just want the right solution. That said, if the flagship models are overkill for my use case, I’d rather save a few hundred and go with something more practical.
I’m in a 1 bed / 2 bath + den, single floor apartment. Layout is pretty straightforward and not very cluttered, standard furniture. One concern is that both bathrooms are on the smaller side (i.e. the path of the door covers much of the floorspace), so I’m trying to understand how well these robots actually navigate into tight spaces and clean them effectively. If I can solve for this by angling the door a certain way, that works too.
Flooring is Brazilian cherry hardwood (not sure if the specific kind matters but including just in case) with a few nicer wool rugs, so rug handling is a big deal.
Main requirements are strong vacuuming and mopping performance, but most importantly I need to make sure rugs don't get wet during mop cycles. Either very reliable rug detection/avoidance or a mop lifting/removal system that actually works in practice.
Also quieter operation and apple homekit integration if possible, but i'm aware homekit is still kinda limited in these days products, so I'd rather have an option that ticks all the operational boxes with no HK over one missing alot of key points with HK.
No pets right now but likely will get a dog in the future. No kids so floors are mostly free of random clutter. Full dock systems (self-empty, self-clean, etc.) seem to be the way to go.
So far, my own research has been a mixed bag with models like the Eufy S1 Omni and X10, Dreame L50, and Narwal Flow coming up pretty frequently, but reviews are in the low 4 star range which seems low given how often they seem to be recommended, but let me know if that's par for the course in this product class.
Would appreciate specific model recommendations, especially any real-world feedback on rug handling (particularly wool), how these perform in small bathrooms, and any brands/models to avoid.
Thanks!
