I tried to write a cliff notes version of this story, but there's a lot of ground to cover over 15 years!

In my early 20's, I fell crazy in love with T. Head over heels. I dont think I've experienced love like that before or since. We were obsessed with each other and spent every day together for nearly a year. But neither of us was in a good place at the time. We were a bad influence on each other. We were both struggling with drugs, our careers, our identities.

I moved out of state, for a variety of reasons, and stopped most of my contact with T because it was the only way I could move on with my life. I married someone 5 years later. T married someone 8 years later. We met up once, 10 years after I moved away. We were both happily married so we had a couple drinks, caught up on life, then went our separate ways.

Well, T happened to be visiting my town last month and we planned to meet up for a drink. It was the first time we've had contact in almost 5 years and I figured it would be like the last time we caught up. Turns out we are both divorced now, and hes been thinking about moving to my town for a few years. He told me one of his biggest regrets was not trying to make something work with us. An evening drink turned into 3 days together. All my emotions for him came flooding back. I had almost entirely forgotten about him and all of a sudden, here he was, sleeping in my bed. He went back home and we've been talking every day since. He already bought flights to come visit me again.

I feel like I'm losing my mind. Is this the universe's grand plan? Will he actually move here? Maybe we both needed all this time and our marriages to grow to a place where we would work together. Or maybe the 20 year old me is bubbling back up, someone who wants this so much she's only seeing the situation through rose colored glasses. Im trying really hard to stay grounded and be patient while things unfold. Im so excited and happy, but also scared of being hurt again by someone I love so much. Ugh.

By the way, the eggplant parm was bomb.

Someone I was madly in love with 15 years ago has suddenly come back. Eggplant parm frozen dinner (it tastes better than it looks)
