We’ve all been there. You spend all night at the range hitting pures, but the moment you step onto the first tee—**Slice. Top. Duff.** Why? Because you stopped trusting your body and started giving it too many orders.

At the range, you are free. You have 100 balls, so if you mess one up, you just pull another and your body stays relaxed. But on the course, you only have one chance. Suddenly, your brain is screaming ten different swing thoughts at once: *"Keep the arm straight! Turn the hips! Watch the elbow!"* **Come on!** A golf swing happens in a split second; your mind cannot process a massive checklist in that timeframe. It only creates tension.

Your body has a memory of its own, but it only works when you stop "over-commanding" it. The secret to a stable shot on the course isn’t more thinking—it’s swinging freely. When I’m on the course with my students, I never talk about swing mechanics. We might talk about your strategy for the hole, a slight adjustment to your ball placement, or a wrongly aimed stance, but I never touch the swing itself. The moment you try to "fix" your mechanics during a round, you’ve already lost because it leads you straight into overthinking.

The "Simple Swing" way is to just let it rip. Next time you’re on the course, don't worry about precautions or mental checklists. Just check your aim, verify your ball position, and then trust your body to do what it knows how to do. You won’t just have more fun—you’ll find your shots are more stable than ever. Enjoy the game, swing freely, and save the "fixing" for the recap afterward.
