Post skin cancer Mohs surgery, trying to fix my face
I had Mohs surgery to remove squamous cell carcinoma back in November and then a plastic surgeon closed the wound using a skin flap from my cheek. We are in the process of doing a few rounds microneedling for the scar, and I may pursue Co2 laser for it as well.
However, beyond the actual scar, I am also concerned about the tension and asymmetry it's caused to my face. My nose (which was slightly deviated before) is now a little more crooked. Also, I don't like the tension/pull on one of my eyes--should be visible in the photo, as you can see a downward turn on one inner corner. Is that something a subsequent surgery coming fix?
I have been pretty down about all of this for several months and trying to figure out what options I may have to correct it.
Also, insurance did cover the initial flap repair reconstruction, but I am assuming everything else from this point on will be out of pocket. So, I certainly need to weigh the cost/benefits.
Any advice you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
