Transfer Credit Evaluation
Guys, I’m a transfer student from UW-Madison. I was checking my transfer credit evaluation and found out that most of the credits from my previous coursework were evaluated as General Elective.
Honestly I’m not surprised at all cuz I think it’s pretty reasonable for the College to do that so the transfers may take most of the core courses here on campus; same for some required courses for majors, many majors require students to take intro level courses here.
But I wonder is there a chance for me to petition for some particular classes and the College might re-evaluate them? For example, I’m pretty sure the STAT-240 I took at UW is some sort of equivalent of the STAT-220 here, and I really don’t want to retake this Stat class again for my math Core. Should I just do the petition and submit all the documents they need for credit evaluation again?
I feel like the course descriptions I submitted for some of my classes were not thorough enough and their syllabus didn’t include many details about what the class actually taught(they spent pages on explaining grading policy and class expectations). If I rework some of these course descriptions, does that elevates the possibility of transferring my credits to fulfill more core requirements?
