Can any Gundam fans help me out

I really wanna watch the Hathaway movie, the visuals looked amazing and the amv they made with guns n roses was amazing as well. I have no clue abt Gundam but I found out that I can't watch the movie without watching some prequel shows. Can anyone pls help me out and tell me the best route to navigate thru the timelines and find the right shows to watch cuz ppl have been giving me multiple routes and I'm very confused😭😭
